North of the Boarder is the inaugural event of the National Trust Boarder series. A surfing event to raise the importance of looking after our coastline through the combination of surfing and litter picking.

Over the 360 miles of Devon and Cornish coast that we protect, we collect approximately 50,000 tonnes of beach rubbish each year, that’s more than 3 jumbo jets worth of litter. However, in order to keep our beaches clean and protected we need to hand-pick the litter which helps to keep the natural habitats intact.

With this event we hope to promote the importance of litter picking through new surfing judging criteria.
